Care & Electrode Pads
Keep Your Pads Ready for the Next Session.
ZV-T01 includes 12 electrode pads in three shapes: 2 rectangular, 6 hand-shape and 4 oval. After use, disconnect the output cord, cover both pads with the protective film, and store as directed. Do not fold the pads. Their usable life varies with skin condition, storage, amount of use, stimulation type and site.
Safety First
The IFU includes important contraindications and warnings. Do not use the device with a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator or other implanted metallic or electronic device. Do not apply stimulation to the neck or across the chest, and do not use over open wounds, infected/inflamed skin or cancerous lesions. Read the complete User Guide before use.
Electrode care
Clean the pads as directed, re-cover them with the protective film after use, and store in a shady place. The IFU specifies storage at +5°C to +27°C with 30%–80% humidity.
When should I replace the pads?
When the electrode surface dries out and no longer sticks, the IFU instructs the user to buy new gels/pads.
What if one pad feels stronger than the other?
The IFU notes that different areas of the body can react differently. Make sure the pads are sticky and making good contact.
General Guidance
How Electrode Pads Work
Electrode pads form the conductive interface between the skin and an electrical stimulator. FDA-cleared reusable self-adhesive electrode designs can use a conductive hydrogel, fabric backing and carbon film, with the electrical connection made through a lead wire or snap-style connector. Construction varies by manufacturer.
Before Use
Prepare the Skin First.
- Use clean, dry, intact skin.
- Avoid lotion, oil or other residue before application because it can reduce adhesion.
- Inspect the pad before use and do not use a pad that is damaged, torn or contaminated.
- Follow the ZV-T01 User Guide for exact pad placement and connection order.
Apply & Remove
Handle the Pad, Not the Wire.
- Turn the stimulator off before applying or removing electrodes.
- Remove the protective liner carefully and place the pad according to the device's placement guidance.
- Press the pad firmly onto the skin and do not allow pads to overlap.
- Peel gently from an edge when removing; do not pull on the electrode cable.
Storage & Replacement
Protect the Adhesive Surface.
- Return reusable pads to their protective liner after use.
- Keep them in their resealable bag or holder, cool, dry and away from direct sunlight.
- Replace pads when adhesion is lost, the gel is dry, the pad is damaged or dirty, stimulation becomes uncomfortable, or performance noticeably declines.
- Pad life varies by product and use; do not assume the lifespan of another brand applies to Zuvlin pads.
